Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the annual Youth Outreach & Count conducted each year in January. We are no longer accepting volunteer registrations for the 2019 Count. Please give us your information so we can reach out to you when planning begins for next year's count.
Homelessness is a solvable problem and we need your help!
Each year, hundreds of volunteers throughout Connecticut make a difference by taking part in the nation’s annual count of people experiencing homelessness.
Connecticut seeks to end youth homelessness by 2020. Having great data is critical to getting the resources that are so desperately needed to house homeless and unstably housed youth. Teams of youth and volunteers survey young people along routes, at organizations and at hotspots to collect information on their housing status. Youth are not identified by name, but volunteers can connect youth to services during the count. This information is then sent to the CCEH to analyze and share with the wider community, state, and federal partners. Through close collaboration between homeless services, youth agencies, and other stakeholders in the community we hope to hold a more comprehensive count, which will give an accurate scope of the magnitude, needs, and demographics of homeless youth in CT.
Please give us your contact information so we can reach out to you in the late fall with information about dates, upcoming trainings, and more.
