Motivational Interviewing for Homeless Services Providers

CCEH is pleased to offer Motivational Interviewing (MI) Training for homeless services providers across the state.  Motivational interviewing is a person-centered technique for strengthening an individual’s own motivation and commitment to change.   This full-day training is designed to teach staff effective use of basic and advanced strategies of motivational interviewing.  Participants will be taught how to apply these strategies to their day-to-day work, through the use of role plays, demonstrations and other experiential activities.

Training will be provided by Community Solutions, Inc of Windsor, CT.  The Community Solutions Inc. Training and Resource Center provides comprehensive training and consulting services to federal, state and local municipalities, along with for-profit and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and internationally.  They offer training and technical assistance on the implementation of a variety of evidence based practices.

Please note: this training is geared toward direct service staff who have daily interactions with people experiencing homelessness.  Due to the highly interactive nature of the training, sessions are limited to 18 participants.  Participants must register in advance.  Registration information will be posted soon. Full location details will be provided with registration confirmation.

Training sessions are 9 to 4:30, with registration at 8:30.  Cost is $20 for members, $35 for non-members, includes lunch and materials.
