The McKinney-Vento Act; Amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 Information Session will be held on May 25th, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. The ESSA advances education for more than 1.3 million children and youth experiencing homelessness by strengthening and improving the McKinney-Vento Act and Title I Part A. Patricia Julianelle, Director of State Projects and Legal Affairs for the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth, will present an overview of changes that provide students experiencing their high school education, and continue on to higher education.
