Shelter Diversion 2.0 Training

January 25, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for a Shelter Diversion 2.0 training that is directed to direct-service/ frontline staff that works within our homeless response system. This advanced diversion training will thoroughly discuss the practice of shelter diversion, with an emphasis on how to have efficient and effective diversion conversions in a person-centered, trauma-informed, and housing-focused way. During this training we will also focus on the importance of problem solving, diversion funding, documentation, and linkage to services and community resources. Shelter Diversion is a practice that all should be skilled in as it is a strategy that prevents homelessness at the front door by helping people identify immediate alternative housing arrangements to shelter and, if necessary, connecting them with services and financial assistance to help them return to permanent housing. Diversion can reduce the number of households becoming homeless, the demand for shelter beds, and the size of program wait lists. This training is ideal for anyone that is new to working within our homeless response system or those that would like a refresher.

*This training will be very interactive, please be prepared to be in a quiet location that allows for you to have your camera on so you can fully engage.
