This training offers support to supervisors and emerging leaders as we are all encouraged to engage in deeper conversations to restore relationships around equity and inclusion in our communities. We cannot create equity solely by ending an inequitable system. Social change can come only if we incorporate racial equity and inclusion at the very core of our work. In this training we will review restorative justice principles and discuss how they can be applied to our homeless response system. We will review diversity, equity, and inclusion assessment tools that can be used to assist with evaluating how an organization is doing to support a positive work culture and maintain positive relationships with staff and those that receive services. We will discuss how to interrupt negative patterns of engagement that retraumatizes communities and will provide guidance on how to conduct problem solving conversations that will support a healthy culture and increase positive relationships in communities.
