Friday, October 29, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published a proposed rule regarding the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF). Policy and Advocacy Updates Federal Dollars for Homeless Assistance. The U.S. House of Representatives also passed HUD Issues Final Rule on Domestic Violence Protections. Senate Committee Passes Legislation For Survivors Of Domestic Violence. The Senate has passed a bill to reauthorize the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVSPA), as part of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA). Resources on Housing and Homelessness Low Income Families would Lose Rental Assistance Under Congressional Proposals. H.B. 5360 – An Act Concerning Children in the Recession passed both Houses and goes to the Governor for approval. H. B. 5388 - An Act Concerning Homeless Female Veterans and Bilingual Service Officers, passed both Houses and went to Governor Rell for approval. S.B. 292 - An Act Concerning Homeless Youth failed as a stand alone measure, but its provisions were rolled into SB 494 An Act Making Adjustments To State Expenditures For The Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2011 which was signed by the Governor. Bills Which Failed: H.B. 5534, H.B. 5374, S.B. 405 H.B. 5534 - An Act Establishing a Revenue Accountability Commission passed in the House but died on the Senate calendar.
