Donate and help strengthen the movement to end homelessness in Connecticut
In 2011, over 13,693 adults and children were homeless in Connecticut; and 4,451, including 531 children, managed each day without a place to call home. Not due to any storm; due to the unacceptable human condition of homelessness.
We believe there is a better way. The Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) works to ensure that families and individuals have more than just a bed for the night, but a stable home forever; not a single meal on a cold night, but a paying job that can support healthy groceries throughout the year. CCEH works to prevent and end homelessness through partnership, organizing, advocacy, and education.
In 2011, with the help of generous supporters like you, we made great strides in the movement to prevent and end homelessness. CCEH’s statewide database helped to locate hundreds of people who were the top utilizers of shelter and additional high-cost state services so they could quickly access permanent supportive housing. CCEH helped lead implementation of the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program that has served more than 4,000 people statewide. Our innovative leadership and empowerment program, which builds the individual and collective voice of adults and youth who have experienced homelessness, has served dozens across the state.
As the end of the year approaches we are looking ahead to initiatives that will strengthen the movement by engaging and empowering communities and promoting research based strategies that will transform the policies, practices and programs that bring us closer to ending homelessness in Connecticut.
We need your support to make continued progress toward ending homelessness amidst the most challenging economic climate of our lifetime. Please commit to supporting the movement to prevent and end homelessness in Connecticut, and ensure the people in your community have a place to call home.
